A career in sports doesn’t mean you have to be an athlete; you can be a Coach, Professional scout, athletic trainer, or a sports agent. Coaches can work with amateurs or professional athletes in different sports. Coaches’ duties include educating athletes about sports rules, talking about gaming strategies and monitoring athlete’s performance. Basic qualifications for coaches if they worked for colleges or professional sports team include a college degree in sports management, physical education and fitness. Athletic trainers diagnose and treat chronic and acute sports injuries, under the supervision of a license Doctor. Athletic trainer educates the players about exercise equipment and they have some administrative duties like updating record. A basic qualification for athletic trainers includes a Bachelors degree with courses in physiology, anatomy and sports nutrition. Professional scouts assess the skills and potential of the athletes, scouts use a number of methods for assessment including attending games, reviewing performance records and watching videos. Qualifications for Professional scouts include former coaches and retired players, some scouts work for a professional sports team or sports management companies, while some are just freelanced. Sports agents act as a representative for athletes and perform a variety of duties, some sports agent’s duties are reviewing and negotiating athlete’s contracts, handling product endorsements and advising athletes on financial planning. Qualifications for sports agent include and understanding of sports management, sports marketing finance and law. Some sports agents even have a law degree. There are many jobs in the sport industry to choose from its just a matter of your own personal preference, these are just of the few most popular for those that like sports but don’t play.
